Foundation Pit Reinforcement on Chavchavadze Avenue
The brief
Foundation pit reinforcement at Chavchavadze Ave. 31, one of Tbilisi's most prominent residential boulevards, commissioned by Domus Development in 2022. The project continued ERTI's long-running partnership with Domus — by this point extending across five separate projects over six years.
The challenge
Chavchavadze Avenue is among Tbilisi's busiest and most prominent thoroughfares. The combination of heavy traffic, high-density residential occupation, and underground utilities demanded flawless perimeter control throughout the excavation. Any disruption to the avenue or adjacent buildings would have had significant consequences.
Our approach
ERTI deployed the Giken press-in silent piling system to install the sheet pile perimeter without vibration impact on the avenue or its neighbours. The zero-disruption methodology was essential on this high-profile urban location, and the works were completed to programme.
